Supervisor Trainee Program - This program is designed for trainees to learn the various  job functions in a soybean processing plant including utility, material handling, preparation and extraction.  Upon completion of the training, the trainee will have a good understanding of the process and flow of an extraction plant and will assume the responsibilities of a Shift Supervisor.  The program’s purpose is for the employee to learn the operations process while preparing them for future career opportunities within the company.  Candidates for this position must (1) demonstrate the ability to be promotable into other management positions and (2) be available to relocate to any AGP production facility within a four state area (IA, NE, MN, MO) while in training or following training.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Supervise and train production employees

  2. Monitor equipment and facility through reviewing logs, reports, visual and physical inspections

  3. Assist with production and maintenance including loading, unloading,  car moving, cleaning, and process operations

  4. Review daily production records to insure efficient operations

  5. Review lab results to insure product quality

  6. Assist with inventory control as needed

  7. Enforce company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Agribusiness/ Ag Production Technology or equivalent experience

  • Strong communication (oral & written) and listening skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Knowledge of government regulations helpful

  • Ability to work as part of a production team

  • Willingness to relocate to any AGP soy processing plant while in training or following training

  • Willingness to work shift work…plants operate 24/7

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work at heights on catwalks and bin decks up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment, and be able to work in confined space if required

  • Lift up to 40-50 lbs. and work outdoors in various climate conditions

  • Work around operating machinery and various environments
