Soybeans are processed into two primary products,
soybean meal, used as an animal feed, and crude soybean
oil which is further processed for human consumption.
Variations in processing methods also yield a host of
co-products. The following section outlines the product
mix in which AGP® is involved, along with a
brief description of the customer base.
- Soybean Meal - used as a primary source of protein in livestock
feeding, primarily swine and poultry. Our customer base includes our stockholders, animal
feed mills, country elevators, commercial feedlots, poultry confinement operations and
exporter markets.
- Soybean Hulls - used for many livestock feeding rations and pelleted
for export.
- Soybean Oil - crude soybean oil requires further processing (refining)
for use. Edible oil refiners are the market outlet for crude soybean oil. AGP is the
fourth
largest refiner in the U.S.
with locations at Eagle Grove, Iowa, Hastings, Nebraska and St. Joseph, Missouri.
