Renewable Fuels/Industrial Products

AGP’s commitment to the biodiesel industry dates back more than two decades with its pioneering efforts to develop a new market for an oversupply of soybean oil. The cooperative invested in the first soy biodiesel plant in the U.S. with a new facility in Sgt. Bluff, Iowa in 1996.

Through the challenges and successes over the years, that commitment has remained solid. AGP’s operations today consist of three biodiesel production plants (Algona, IA, Sgt. Bluff, IA, St. Joseph, MO) with a combined annual capacity of 175 million gallons. Biodiesel production is another avenue to add value to AGP’s core products and is a key component of the cooperative’s integrated business strategy.

As a leading advocate for the establishment of industry quality standards, AGP continues to produce the highest quality biodiesel product available, receiving BQ9000 certification of its biodiesel production.
